A swap deal could materialise this summer as Arsenal manager continues to chase Marseille’s Ghanaian winger Andre Ayew whilst OM’s sporting director Jose Anigo also eyes Gervinho.
Anigo tried to sign Gervinho for Marseille years back when he was at Le Mans but the player moved to Lille instead. He is still eager to bring the Ivorian to the Stade Velodrome.
French sports paper L’Equipe reports that Arsene Wenger is ready to ask for the services of the Ghana midfielder in return for Gervinho as he believes that the Ghanaian is a player who could help end the club’s trophy drought.
Marseille are not all that financially sound and cannot afford Gervinho’s yearly wage of 3.4 million Pounds so they will add money to Ayew to get the Ivorian and subsidize the wage.
