Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has presented a custom-made candidate, ready to steer Ghana towards a brighter future.
According to him, the flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has extensive experience in geopolitics and a strong international profile, which enhances his potential to revitalise the economy.
Speaking during the NPP manifesto on August 18, Mr Kufuor said, “He is an international banker and he has studied politics."
"In fact he was born into politics. It’s because of his loyalty to the tradition, that the party gave him the chance to be the candidate.”
The former president stated that Dr Bawumia is well-equipped to modernise the economy and advance social policies, noting his ability to forge strong international relationships that will benefit Ghana.
“We are presenting a custom-made president to Ghana. A candidate that will digitalise the economy and social policy. A candidate that understands the politics and would bring on board a sound relationship, whose call will be Ghana’s best interest internationally.”
“So today I wish the conference in Takoradi, God blessings and success. The manifesto our leader and candidate is presenting will be received by all of Ghana in confidence and trust that, Bawumia is the man of the moment, man of destiny and an insightful and humble person," he said.
National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayesu Ntim has commended the leadership of the ruling government for leading Ghana from the brink of despair to economic recovery.
According to him, during global health crises, including Covid-19, the government worked hard to come up with measures to make the country more manageable and relatively better to serve the needs of all Ghanaians.
