An 85-year-old woman has been killed at Ofoase in the Eastern Region after the building in which she was sleeping collapsed on her Tuesday night.
The woman, Akua Krah was asleep with her grandson, Akwesi Boadi, 15, in separate rooms when the building imploded last night.
She was killed when slabs of the building fell on her but the grandson survived. He only sustained minor injuries and has been sent to the St. John's Hospital at Ofoase.

An eyewitness told Joy News' Eastern Regional Correspondent, Edwin Kofi Siaw she was asleep when a loud sound awoken her.
When she got outside, she realised the building had collapsed resulting in her decision to wake other residents of the area to go to the rescue of the occupants.

She said the rescuers found the old woman dead. The grandson who was in a separate room had slabs of the building falling on his leg. He survived.
The body of Akua Krah has been deposited at the morgue.
