Lawrence Agyekum made his debut for the Black Stars in their win over Chad on Friday, March 21.
The Cercle Brugge midfielder replaced Thomas Partey in the 5-0 win over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Agyekum came on in the 83rd minute getting seven minutes plus added time under his belt.
The 21-year-old was the technical team’s last choice of substitution after Abu Francis, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Jerome Opoku and Jerry Afriyie had all made their way onto the pitch.
He made a decent cameo sharing the midfield with club teammate Abu and controlling the team’s ply in the final minutes.
Agyekum was one of three players called up into the national team for the first time with the others being Christopher Bonsu Baah and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who also made his debut.
The Belgian-based midfielder will hope his cameo against Chad gives him opportunities in subsequent games with Ghana facing Madagascar on Monday in Morocco.
