Overlord of Dagbon Yaa-Naa Abukari Mahama II has been elected as the new President of the reconstituted Northern Regional House of Chiefs.
The Yaa-Naa, the sole candidate, did not face any opposition from other members of the house for the position.
The position of the President and the Vice President became vacant after the creation of the new regions that saw the former President Yagbonwura moved to the Savannah region.
Yaa-Naa Abukari II who accepted to be the new president of the House called for unity and togetherness among all chiefs and members of the house for a successful tenure.
He also sought the blessings of his forefathers in his new role and pledged to dispense his duties well.
Other members for the various committees which were also inaugurated included the five-member to be represented at the National House of Chiefs.
Meanwhile, the position for the vice president remains vacant for some outstanding issues to be resolved.
