Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has commended the recipients of the 2025 WAEC Distinction Awards for their exceptional academic achievements, describing them as symbols of discipline, resilience, and brilliance.
Speaking at the awards ceremony in Accra, Mr Iddrisu extended warm congratulations to the honourees, emphasising that their dedication had distinguished them on both national and regional stages.
“Let me begin by congratulating all the awardees for your sterling performance. Your hard work, discipline, and perseverance have truly set you apart from others,” he stated.
The Minister underscored the broader significance of their achievements, noting that they serve as motivation for their peers and a beacon of national pride.
“You remain inspiring role models, even to your own colleagues and contemporaries. As you proudly walk as recognised awardees at the level of the West African Examinations Council, know that your efforts have been acknowledged and celebrated,” he added.
Encouraging the awardees to stay the course of academic and personal excellence, Mr Iddrisu expressed optimism about their future contributions to Ghana’s development.
“To you all, I say congratulations – and Ayekoo,” he said.
The WAEC Distinction Awards are conferred annually by the West African Examinations Council to honour candidates who excel in the WASSCE for School Candidates across the sub-region.
The awards celebrate not just academic prowess, but also integrity, dedication, and commitment to learning.
