Gospel singer Empress Gifty says she is proud of her husband, Hopeson Adorye, for putting up a good fight in his bid to win the Kpone Katamanso parliamentary contest.
Taking to Instagram to congratulate him, Empress Gifty stated that his loss in the 2020 general elections is only an indication they need to work more.
"You have fought a good fight and raised the hopes of your lovers and the entire NPP supporters in Kpone Katamanso."
"You have made us proud and given us a reason to put in more hard work next time to wrestle power for our mother party, the NPP and our constituents."
Empress Gifty added that this loss is not the end of the road for Mr Adorye as they will keep fighting for the country.
She also congratulated President-elect Akufo-Addo for fulfilling his vision of leading the country for a second term.
Hopeson Adorye lost the parliamentary elections to the incumbent MP Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo.
The MP elect running on the ticket of the NDC polled 51,755 votes while Mr Adorye who was hoping to enter parliament under the ticket of the NPP polled 39,546 votes.
