Zonta Club of Accra has honoured six women who have made an impact in our society with potted Yellow Roses on International Women’s Day which also happens to be Zonta Rose Day on Friday, March 8.
The theme for this year's International Women’s Day was “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”.

On the auspicious day dedicated to celebrating women the world over, the Club felt that it was important to celebrate the achievements and resilience of Ghanaian women in general and the esteemed examples of six particular women who have made significant moves in their areas of operation.
The women were presented with potted yellow roses meant to be symbols of friendship, joy and empowerment to them and hoped that the gesture will serve as a reminder of the vital role each advantaged woman plays in advancing the rights and empowerment of less privileged women in our society.

The women who were honoured included:
Barbara Baeta – For her resilience in being the first woman to have brought Zonta International Club to Ghana and Africa.

She is a Chartered Member of the premiere Zonta International Club, Zonta Club of Accra.
