What began as a routine night of work for a commercial sex worker in Sekondi in the Western region has ended in severe injuries and a police case after a disagreement over GH₵50 reportedly turned violent.
The victim, a Nigerian national who identified herself as Nancy, was allegedly assaulted by a client who had solicited her services late on Friday night.
According to her account, the client approached her and negotiated a fee of GH₵50 for a short time.
They later proceeded to the man’s residence, where the situation reportedly escalated after the client attempted to extend the encounter beyond the agreed duration.

Nancy said she informed the man that she was tired and could not continue, a response that allegedly angered him. She explained that the client then demanded a refund of the GH₵50, which she refused, insisting that she had already rendered the agreed service.
She further alleged that the man demanded her mobile phone, a request she also declined.
It was at that point, Nancy said, that the client assaulted her mercilessly, leaving her with visible injuries.
The matter has since been reported to the Sekondi Police, who issued the victim with a medical report form to enable her seek treatment at a health facility.
Police are yet to officially comment on the incident, as investigations are expected to commence.
