Ten persons have been confirmed dead in fatal road crash on the Bomapa-Atwedie stretch on the Kumasi-Accra road in the Ashanti Region, Monday.
Three vehicles - two mini-passenger buses and a truck - were involved in the collision, according to Luv FM's Erasmus Asare Donkor. Four passengers died on the spot while six others died later while receiving medical care.
Konongo Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Alex Amenyo told Erasmus that, the death included a three year old boy.
He said six other passengers are in critical condition while those who sustained minor injuries are receiving treatment at a nearby health facility.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but police are not ruling out unnecessary speeding and wrong overtaking on the part of the drivers. The police are hoping the only surviving driver would help in giving vital information.
The District police chief urged drivers to be cautious and apply proper sense of jugdment when trying to overtake other vehicles.
