The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC - Ghana) has nominated its president Samson Deen to serve as a Local Organizing Committee (LOC) member of the 2023 Africa Games which will be staged in Ghana.
Initially, NPC-Ghana had no representation in the 9-member Local Organization Committee inaugurated by President Nana Akufo-Addo on October 12 this year.
NPC-Ghana as a result sent a petition to the government on October 13, registering their displeasure at being sidelined.
The Youth and Sports Ministry responded quickly and asked the Paralympic body to nominate one person to be a member of the 2023 Africa Games LOC.
The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana went on to nominate its president Samson Deen, according to a statement signed by General Secretary Peter Adjei. Samson Deen is an astute businessman and a Travel and Tours expert.
The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana is the sole governing body of all Paralympic sports in the country. Its vision is to create opportunities for athletes with impairment to exhibit their talents and skills.
