Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has called on the club’s fans to fill the Accra Sports Stadium on September 5, 2025, as they seek to win another pre-season trophy ahead of the new campaign.
The Phobians will take on city rivals Great Olympics in the second edition of the Democracy Cup to battle for bragging rights.
Ahead of the event, Twellium Industrial Company donated cartons of water and energy drinks to the team at their training base in Pobiman, Accra, on Thursday as they ramp up preparations for the match.
Speaking after the donation, Dramani said, “Ghana is noted to be the pinnacle of democracy, and in view of this, if our Honourable Speaker of Parliament has instituted an event of this kind, and this is the second edition of it, I think that it is everyone’s responsibility to use football as a unifying factor to fill the stadia on the 5th of September at the stadium of Legon.
“The vicinity is also close, it gives you the right place to be. I think that there wouldn’t have been any other aspect that we would support in terms of unifying the entire country, but the name put behind this trophy is so, so significant.”

Hearts of Oak will be seeking to add the Democracy Cup to the 2025 Gbese Mantse Cup they lifted after losing the first edition of the competition to Asante Kotoko.
