3 Ghanaian firms awarded by German Bank

A German consortium that has been assisting Ghanaian businesses over the years, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) in collaboration with HB Consult has awarded three companies in Ghana, for exhibiting excellence in their business practices in accordance with German banking standards, in Accra. 

The firms; Joshob Construction limited, Justmoh construction limited and Wilhelm limited  according to Helaba displayed absolute excellence in their business dealings with them which eventually gained them recognition not only in their bank but also in Germany.

The awards further cited the transparency of the three firms as well as their diligence and honesty under the current unfavorable worldwide economic circumstance for the recognition. 

Helaba has over eight years disbursed a total of 30million Euros in loans granted directly to SMEs in Ghana for projects such as road and bridge construction, mining, water and transportation.

The board of directors of the bank on agreeing to award the honor Indicated that by such exemplary business leadership by the three firms, comes as evidence that Ghana has a good investment climate for companies to perform even under the current worldwide economic problems.

The Global director structural financing for Helaba, Mr. Joerg Hartmann, presenting the awards, motivated other firms in Ghana to re-structure their approach towards business to meet banking standards in Germany to enable them gain access to the facility. 

On accepting the rewards the award-winning firms led by the CEO of Joshob construction limited Mr. James Osei Brown, highlighted the immense support that was received from their Ghanaian business counterparts especially in the banking sector and dedicated his award to Unibank, for paying their annuities on time and consistently. 

The award ceremony was attended by the minister of state in charge of Private Public Partnership, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, deputy minister of trade and industry, Hon Kweku Rickett-Hagan and the president of the AGI Mr. Asare-Adjei Among.
