Three staffers at the Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans Limited have been honoured by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after topping at the 2024 Asantehene Golf tournament.
In the sponsors' competition, Tony Appiah and Pearl Andrews emerged as the overall winner and runner-up, respectively, showcasing their exceptional prowess on the course.
Selorm Kwabena Boampong claimed the title of overall winner in the Men's Handicap competition, demonstrating the depth of talent present in the tournament.
The Royal Golf Club in Kumasi hosted the 67th Asantehene Golf Tournament to showcase the reputation for excellence in the golfing community.
This prestigious tournament attracted an impressive turnout of over 270 golfers from Ghana and various international regions. The competition was open to both professional and amateur players, creating an inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
Among the distinguished entrants were professional golfers hailing from countries such as Nigeria, South Africa, and Togo. Their participation added an international flair to the event, elevating the level of competition and camaraderie among players.
Notably, golfers from Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans, who have a history of success in previous tournaments, demonstrated their skill and determination, ultimately winning three prestigious awards this year.
The Asantehene Amateur Golf Tournament, also known as the Asantehene Open Championship was first played in 1955 in honor of the Asantehene. This longstanding tradition not only celebrates the sport of golf but also pays tribute to the cultural heritage and leadership of the Asante people.
With such a legacy, the tournament continues to foster goodwill, sportsmanship, and community engagement within the golf fraternity and beyond.
