A 42-year-old nursing mother has drowned in a pond at Amuana Praso in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.
The deceased, identified as Grace Amanuwaa, reportedly went to fetch water from a pond that serves as a community well when the incident occurred.
Her sister, Akua Boatemaa, told Adom News that Grace had a history of epilepsy and is believed to have suffered a seizure while fetching the water, leading to her drowning.
The body has since been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
Meanwhile, her grieving husband, Kwabena Ayigbe, said he was on his farm when the incident happened and appealed to the Ghana Police Service to release the body for burial.
