You could tell from the frankness of her voice that she was not lying to herself, or anyone else, when Ghana’s current music sensation, Becca, promised to give fellow artistes scheduled to perform at Joy FM’s ‘Nite With The Stars’ programme on Friday, December 1, a real challenge.
The venue as usual is the Accra International Conference Centre, and Becca, whose current album, ‘You Lied To Me’ is raving the music charts nationwide, says the guys better come to the show prepared to give their all because she will be there to ‘give them a run for their lives, not for their money.’
And the line-up of artistes, by all indications, is one of the toughest; parading the likes of Praye, Kwaw Kesse, Okyeame Quame, Obrafuor, Nana Kontihene, VIP, Kofi B, KK Fosu, OD4, 4X4, and the Nigerian hit squad, P-Square, among others.
That should be a tough call for anyone seeking competition, but Becca, blessed with that sweet yet powerful voice that belies her status as a ‘fresher’ on the music scene, told Doreen Andoh on Joy FM’s Cosmopolitan Mix programme that she was all ready to go gigi and claim the title as the best performer.
The seventh in the series, the Nite with the Stars event is an annual musical show that celebrates the cream of the nation’s artistes, and organisers say all is set for an eventful nite.
Tickets @ GH¢35, are on sale at Joy FM, Adom FM, Koala and Pills & Tabs.
The 2007 edition is sponsored by tiGO with support from Star Beer, Silicon House Productions, Virgin Nigeria, Margins ID systems Limited and Biogold.
