Parliamentarian for Kpando has pledged to fully fund the university education of the two contestants who represented Kpando Senior High School (SHS) in this year's National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
Although they were kicked out at the quarter-final stage by finalists St. Peter's SHS, Della Sowah told Joy News their performance is worthy of commendation.
"My people did not win but I congratulate them all the same. I have promised each of them that this will not be the end I will sponsor each of them at the University," she said.
She added, "because they are so brilliant, they come if they do not have any support to go forward then this is the end of the road for them. So my promise is to sponsor all of them to go to a tertiary institution so they can build their lives from there."
The MP who was present throughout all the contests featuring Kpando SHS noted that science and Maths is the future of the country.
“For them to qualify from the Volta region, for me it is a big achievement...so it is a good thing, my people did not win but I congratulate them all the same," she said.
