Kinapharma Limited has denied the claim by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) suggesting that its premises were invaded by officials of the Food and Drugs Authority.
PSGH in a release last Thursday, condemning the FDA's recent unwarranted swoop on Tobinco Pharmaceuticals cited what it termed: "The Rambo-styled invasion of premises of Kinapharma Ltd. and arrest of its owner on the allegation of importation of narcotic drugs by the FDA and some security agencies".
But a letter to Dennis Sena Awitty, Executive Secretary of PSGH and signed by Mr. Kofi Nsiah-Poku, Chief Executive of Kinapharma, sighted by Myjoyonline.com, flatly denies the involvement of the FDA in the invasion of its premises in August 2011.
"The raid was carried out by the police under the authorization of Madam Rose Bio-Atinga - then Accra Regional Police Commander. The Food and Drugs Board was not part of this raid", the release emphasised.
The letter has therefore demanded a retraction from the PSGH.
