One out of three accused persons being tried in the murder of a security officer at Bantama has escaped from police custody Tuesday afternoon in Kumasi.
Prince Adu Gyamfi took off police handcuffs on his way to the Kumasi prisons and entered a nearby bush close to the court.
According to Luv FM's Erastus Donkor, five armed police men had come to assist the CID Chief Inspector Adjei to drive the three suspects from the court to the prison, but the inspector told them to leave because he had everything under control.
He was reported to have put the three suspects at the back of his private vehicle only for Prince Adu Gyamfi to escape.
The suspects had just been remanded in prison custody to appear on November 11.
The police are in a man-hunt for the suspect.
