British High Commissioner Iain Walker’s has started his 1,000km ride on a bicycle to raise funds in support of plastic surgery at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The 10-day ride is dubbed the Ghana Grand Tour started this week.
Describing it as “challenging”, the High Commissioner within minutes of touching down in Tamale, where he started his tour, visited a project site called Sama Sama. This is a project founded by a Brit-Ghanaian.

The project manufactures specially designed toilets for use by the locals.
During the visit, the High Commissioner was shown the full Sama Sama project range.
He told Joy News’ Kojo Yankson at the end of his visit that the innovation has been a success. The project has benefitted from funding by Global Affairs Canada.
Their CEO, Stuart Taylor, travelled from Canada to witness be with the envoy.
