Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia has cut the sod for the construction of a 600-bed capacity girls' dormitory and housemistress' block for Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco) in the Northern region.

“This is the largest single investment in infrastructure since the school was established and financed by MTN Ghana as part of its corporate social responsibility,” he tweeted.

Dr Bawumia also commissioned a sickbay and a renovated Assembly Hall in the school and inspected ongoing works on a 12 unit classroom block.

Speaking in a short ceremony, Dr Bawumia urged parents and students to embrace the opportunity provided by the Free SHS policy of the government.

“It is a golden opportunity to position Ghana and the North in particular on the path of growth and development,” he said.
