Players in the real estate sector have been urged to adopt green-build methods in the construction of buildings to ensure safety of lives and the environment.
Chief Executive Officer of Ghanaian design-build firm, Spektra Global, Williams Evans Halm is certain going green in construction will protect the environment and ensure human safety.
He made the call while speaking at the International Building Construction and Property Exhibition on the theme: ‘Sustainable buildings – a shift towards Zero Energy Buildings in Accra.
Mr. Halm is convinced some government intervention will ensure that architects and contractors attach new sustainable construction mechanisms regarding building environmentally, friendly houses.
He maintained that, green building structures are energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Spektra Global boss said sustainable building is a step in the right direction towards conserving global energy.
Mr. Halm urged government to provide incentives for architects and contractors who embrace green building architecture in the country.
