Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has re-affirmed government’s progress in improving efficiency through a rapid digitisation drive.
To this end, he assured that about four million houses will by the end of 2020 have the digital address stamps for free.
“The nation builders corps graduates are now in the field, they have begun the process and within the next six months four million homes are going to be tagged with their unique digital addresses and that is going to be done for free for every home,” he assured.
According to the Vice President, Ghana’s economy will be efficiently digitised in the next three years - a development which will attract more investments and ensure business efficiency.
He challenged the country’s business community has been challenged to do more in utilising government’s digitisation agenda at the 3rd Business Chamber Awards.
President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNNCI), Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso 1, charged the business community to adopt rapid strategies to ensure efficiency and global especially as Ghana was hosting the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement Area (AfCFTA) in July 2020.
“It is instructive that we encourage businesses to be more creative in areas such as marketing, branding, pricing, delivery, technology, cost optimization and effective customer care.
“This is particularly important given the recent entry in force of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement Area (AfCFTA),” he stated.
With over 40 companies and business leaders recognized, the ultimate personality awards went to Emmanuel Berketey Bortey of Charger Limited – he was the Young Entrepreneur of the year.
Chamber Business Woman of the year went to Janet Anane while the Chamber Businessman of the year went to Samuel Amo Tobin of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals.
The Theme for the 3rd Chamber Business Awards was “Digitising the Ghanaian economy for a competitive edge and globalized markets.”
