Celebrities are accustomed to bringing their dogs on airplanes, but Jenniffer Lopez might regret not leaving her German shepherd at home.
The actress/singer has been sued by a flight attendant who claimed the actresses’ dog bit her on the leg, during a flight in 2006, The New York Daily News reports.
Lisa Wilson, who worked as a flight attendant for the private airline NetJets, filed a suit against Lopez in a Brooklyn court last Thursday, alleging Lopez’s dog attacked her in July 2006.
Wilson claimed the dog attack caused her to fall to the ground, injuring her back, and subsequently, prevented her from working.
Lopez’s dog was reportedly described in the manifest as “a well behaved guard dog,” according to court papers.
However, Wilson alleged that during the flight, she passed by the dog and it began “attacking her and biting a pant leg,” according to the papers.
While trying to evade the alleged attacking dog, Wilson claimed she “twisted and fell” and sustained injuries to her lower back which she required surgery.
She added that she can no longer work and has suffered a “great economic loss”.
Wilson’s lawsuit reportedly argued that Lopez is “absolutely liable for all injuries” and “should have known the dog had vicious propensities.”
The former flight attendant’s lawyer told the paper his client had made several attempts to settle the case with Lopez, but she had been ignored by the pop star, hence the $5 million suit.
A rep for Lopez did not return calls made by the paper, and when Lopez’s company Nuyorican Productions did, the rep said “We are not obligated to comment on the suit”.
