David Beckham was jealous of wife Victoria's close friendship with Damon Dash.
The former Spice Girl teamed up with the hip-hop mogul in 2003 to reinvent her solo career and Damon claims the soccer player was envious of the amount of time they spent together.
Speaking at the launch of his new watch in London, Damon told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: "I wouldn’t blame David if he was jealous. It's understandable. I was hanging out with his beautiful wife all the time. I think he thought there was something going on between the two of us.
"I know they had a conversation about it. But everyone knew we were just friends. But who can blame him? I’m a fly guy."
Victoria – who has three sons, Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, five, and three-year-old Cruz, with David – started working with Damon around the same time David signed with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Their marriage was rumoured to be in trouble as Victoria spent more time working with Damon in the UK and US while David was settling into his new club.
It was during Victoria’s collaboration with Damon that David was accused of having an affair with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos, although he later described the allegations as "ludicrous".
