Black Stars former coach, Kwesi Appiah and ex-captain Stephen Appiah Thursday appeared before the Justice Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry to testify circumstances, which led to the team’s early exit from the 2014 World Cup.

Kwesi Appiah arrived with his lawyer Mr. Kojo Graham while Stephen ‘Tornado’ Appiah was supported by his long time friend Sports Journalist, Charles Osei Asibey.

While testifying to the Commission, Coach Appiah recommended that Ghana should adopt a football philosophy, which would enable players perform creditably in future international events.

According to him, the syndrome of constantly changing coaches of the Black Stars would persist if proper steps are not taken to maintain one coach for a longer period of time.

As part of the recommendations, he urged the pruning of officials and political hanger-ons who travel along the players to such tournaments at the expense of the tax payer.

Re-echoing former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah’s advice, Kwesi Appiah said, Ghana’s training pitches needed significant improvement to aid the development of the game.

On his part, ex-captain Stephen Appiah told the Commission that the abysmal World Cup campaign in Brazil last June was because the players lost trust and confidence in persons responsible for paying their appearance fee.

He said after the Black Stars management team failed to honour its repeated promises to pay their appearance fees, the players were demoralized.
