The former Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone, Uche Ofodile is now heading to Tigo to head the mobile network’s operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Joy Business gathers that she will assume office on October 1 as the General Manager.
Uche joins Tigo DRC from Vodafone Ghana, where she played an instrumental role in the company’s success by overhauling the strategy, driving business performance and creating a strong local talent bench.

Uche joins Tigo from Vodafone in Ghana, where she held a number of senior management positions.
As Chief Marketing Officer, Uche drove spectacular growth for the company and won many awards to crown the commercial success, including “Most Admired Brand” and “Telecommunications Company of the Year”.
She played an instrumental role in Vodafone Ghana’s success by overhauling the strategy, driving business performance and creating a strong local talent bench. Prior to Vodafone, Uche delivered strong brand and commercial growth in a number of challenging roles in Nigeria. She has a BA in Political Science from Ramapo College, New Jersey in the USA and a Diploma in Strategic Marketing from the Columbia University Business School.
Uche said “I am so delighted to be leading Tigo’s team in DRC. The country is at a very exciting juncture in its ICT development, and there is great potential for further growth. I was attracted by Tigo’s ambitious digital vision for its consumers. I am really looking forward to building out the business and its product offering.”
