Reverend Samuel Amankwah, Volta Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Saturday inaugurated the Volta Regional Cadet Corps Headquarters in Ho and expressed the hope that the concept of cadetting would help curb indiscipline among the youth.
He said the cardinal values of cadetting were essential for the holistic development of the youth and urged students to use it to build good foundations for their future.
Reverend Amankwah advised members of the various units of the Regional Cadet Corps to submit to the tenets of discipline so that they would be prepared for the future.
He pledged the preparedness of the Regional Directorate to continue to support the Regional Cadet Corps Headquarters.
Mr Nicholas Nii Tettey Amarteifio, National Cadet Coordinator, urged members of the Regional Corps to keep the spirit of discipline and loyalty alive forever to ensure their “spiritual and physical” growth.
He inducted a five-man executive committee, led by Mr Ampoti Dickson, to run the affairs of the Regional Cadet Headquarters.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Dickson asked for support from all stakeholders, especially school heads.
He also asked for logistical support to facilitate their work.
The Cadet Corps held a two-hour parade, reviewed by Captain Nii Laryea Odumang, Adjutant of the 66 Artillery Regiment.
