Ghana is currently participating in the ongoing World Travel Market (WTM) Fair in London, United Kingdom.
The WTM Fair, the world’s leading Travel Trade Show, is an annual event which takes places in the British Capital of London. It is aimed at increasing tourism trade deals, international networking with travel professionals, buyers and providing travel business intelligence.
This year’s event kicked off on Monday 3rd November and is due to end on 6th November, 2014.
According to Ghana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the fair offers an opportunity to inform and sensitize investors about investment opportunities available in Ghana’s tourism, culture and creative arts sector.
She added that, Ghana’s participation in this year’s event will help encourage global tour operators and travel agents highlight Ghana’s tour circuits.
Ghana’s stand at this year’s event has been expanded to accommodate the higher number of patrons.
Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare believes the gathering of representatives of global tourism destination operators also offers a unique opportunity for Ghana to conduct research in competitive markets whilst exploring training opportunities for the sector’s human resource.
Ghana’s delegation also includes other officials from Tourism Ministry, the Ghana Tourism Authority and the Forestry Commission. Also are private sector players from from entities like Sunseekers, Travel Bureau, Apstar Tours, Land Tours, Mibes Hospitality and Seasons Travel and Tours.
