Students of the University of Development Studies (UDS) have once again boycotted lectures after they called off an earlier boycott. The students are now insisting that the Vice Chancellor Professor Kaku Sagare Nokoe apologizes to two of their student leaders who were suspended for alleged dissent. They are also seeking authorities of the school to quash and delete the suspension of the two students from their files. An intervention by Education Minister Alex Tetteh Enyoh stopped an intended closure of the school due to the refusal of the students to resume lectures. Speaking to Joy News, the president of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the school, Mr Naab Alphons, said his colleagues would only go for lecturers on condition that the school satisfies their demand. Meanwhile the Vice Chancellor of the school Professor Kaku Sagare Nokoe tells Joy News the students’ boycott is at their own risk as the academic calendar will not be extended to make time for the lost time.
