Government is yet to release money for the running of 17 secondary schools in the Northern, Upper East and West Regions who have complained of lack of funds.
The schools were absorbed into the boarding system from September last year, but the Scholarship Secretariat which disburses funds to boarding schools has not released money to the new schools.
Education, Science and Sports Minister, Papa Owusu-Ankomah says the matter will be dealt with in a few days time.
But the Northern Regional Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, Charles Nyaaba says a much more urgent approach is required because the headmasters are now borrowing money to run the schools.
Mr. Nyaaba who is also headmaster of the Damongo Secondary School told Joy News it is important that the schools receive the money before the Easter break.
He said the schools have so far existed on credit facilities with which they are able to procure food items, however they are unable to do so for teaching imprest.
