Myjoyonline regular columnist, Ms. Dorothy Asare-Kumah, has been adjudged the most outstanding student in Communications at the Grand Valley State University in Michigan, USA. The award was in recognition of her sterling academic achievement in the Master of Science in Communications program, in which she enrolled in August 2007. Ms. Asare-Kumah was nominated by her faculty from among the Winter 2009 graduating class of the MSC program. She received, for her award, a certificate presented to her at a banquet of the university held in honour of all award winners in various categories. Ms. Dorothy Asare-Kumah is a journalist by profession, and a former student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism and the University of Ghana, Legon. She worked as a journalist with The Ghanaian Times before leaving for further studies in the United States. She currently writes the ‘Abrokyire’ Palaver column at Myjoyonline.com.
