The Accra-East branch of the Rotary Club of Ghana has renovated the Science laboratory of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Senior High School.
The package, estimated at GH¢10,000, includes the renovation of the main Science Laboratory and re-fixing of plumbing works.
Mr Yaw Asah-Sam, President of the Club, said their action was motivated by their quest to meet the needs of society.
He said the club, made up of professionals, is devoted to supporting the needy in society, hence the renovation of the school’s science laboratory.
Mr Asah-Sam said “We (Rotary club) are committed to giving back to society, and this is one of many ways of achieving that.”
He said the club has also provided 8 bore holes for some selected communities in the Akwapim south district and stocked the library of the Burma Camp cluster of Schools.
Rotary International is an organization of service clubs known as Rotary clubs located all over the world and is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, colour, creed or political preference.
The stated purpose of the organisation is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
