Residents living along the storm drain running through Asylum Down and Nima in Accra, have opposed the claim by Works and Housing Minister that, the video of floating waste in the drain was taken to make the government unpopular.
Samuel Atta Akyea on a visit to the area Wednesday, described the video as untrue and an attempt by some persons to create disaffection for the government.
“There was a whole propaganda trending that a lot of debris was floating after 15 minutes of a downpour. But that arrangement couldn’t be like that.
“It was all false and those who are behind it to smear the government must know it is not proper,” the Minister said during an inspection tour to flood-prone areas in Accra.
However, the residents, in an interaction with JoyNews' Ernest Kojo Manu, affirmed the earlier report published on Myjoyonline.com
