Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, are “taking it one-day-at-a-time” in isolation after their coronavirus diagnosis, the actor announced on Twitter Thursday.
“Hello, folks. Rita Wilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us,” Hanks tweeted.
“We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else.”
The couple was dressed casually, wearing hats, with Wilson smiling as Hanks had his arm wrapped around her in a photo shared with his post.
The duo, both 63, had been in Australia for the pre-production of Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley film from Warner Bros when they learned they contracted coronavirus.
Hanks and Wilson are in stable condition and being treated at a Queensland hospital, Australian officials have said.
“We are taking it one-day-at-a-time,” Hanks wrote Thursday.
Hanks ended his update by quoting himself from his role in “A League of Their Own.”
“Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball. Hanx.”
