Sista Afia has cancelled her tour in Italy scheduled for June due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
This comes after, Italy, which is now the heart of the deadly outbreak in Europe, was put on lockdown when they recorded increasing cases of Coronavirus.
Manager of Sista Afia, Mr Emmanuel Arhin, in an interview with the GNA said that their decision was mainly based on their observation of what is going on in Italy.
He stated that the concert which was scheduled to take place in June will be rescheduled and tickets, in the meantime will be refunded.
“We have been monitoring the situation in Italy and we thought it wise to cancel our forthcoming show scheduled to take place in June, Modena. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused."
“Anyone who has purchased the tickets would have a refund and when we do come out with a new date it would be announced,” he stated.
Sista Afia is the latest artiste to announce a tour cancellation after the Coronavirus was labelled a pandemic by the World Health Organisation.
Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, Nigerian artiste Davido, 3Music Networks and many other institutions have cancelled events to help control the spread on the virus.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo also announced that schools including universities, basic schools and senior high schools be closed for a month.
Public gathering, including church activities and others have been banned while events like funerals or weddings have been restricted to about 25 people.
