A yet-to-be-identified Ghanaian woman who has been placed under quarantine has commended Ghana's measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
The lady said she was impressed by the stringent protocol that led to her being put in isolation after she touched down in the country.
She was among the scores of passengers who were escorted by the military into mandatory quarantine after they touched at the Kotoka International Airport on March 22, 2020, from Nigeria.
This was after they were tested negative for novel coronavirus during checks by medical officers.
Currently, under observation at a hotel in the capital, she says they were handled with decorum while they received guidelines for self-quarantine.
“Before we went to bed we were given guidelines for mandatory quarantine which was quite important because I didn’t know much details in regards to this. I had my temperature checked. I was given questions as to whether I had a running nose or whether I had a cough and how I’m feeling,” she revealed in a viral video.
As she awaits the result of her second test after two days in quarantine, she commended the government for measures taken to contain the virus.
“I am very impressed at how the Ghana government is taking this serious and the measures that they are going to ensure that all of us on that flight and everybody else in Ghana is safe,” she said.
