Chief Executive Officer of food procession company, Kedan Limited, has donated 100 bags of maize products, valued at GH¢15,000 to the government.
Eric Dankwa Kissi said, in an interview with JoyNews' Rafiq Salam, that the donation is the company's contribution to the government in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
He stated the company owes it a duty to give back to the community, society and the country, in line with its corporate social responsibility.

Mr Kissi also disclosed that the company is giving government and other institutions 30% discount off all its products while the general public gets a 15% discount.
He noted that the move is to support institutional efforts at managing the effect of coronavirus on the economic livelihood of the people, especially frontline staff and vulnerable groups.
“We know there are frontline staff comprising of medical doctors, nurses, security personnel and people who are vulnerable and have nowhere to sleep.

Mr. Kissi said five different dishes could be made from the corn flour which they have prepared under strict hygienic conditions.
Sissala East Municipal Chief Executive, Karimu Nanyuo, who received the items, was very grateful to Kedan Limited for the gesture.
He urged Ghanaians especially other benevolent organisations, to emulate the example of Kedan limited.

“These are not normal times, we don’t expect people to stand and stare. Let's all of us get involved. Situations like these require more of such support,” he added
Kedan Limited is a large scale maize -procession company located at Tumu in the Sissala East municipality.

The company, which has been dealing in maize production/farming and trading, has been operational for 10 years.
Kedan Limited also processes raw maize into flour for household meals like Tuo-zaafi, Banku, Akple and Porridge. They also process the raw maize into broken maize for industrial use.
Kedan Limited engages in large scale maize and soya bean production under an out-grower scheme with local farmers.

The company assists farmers to improve their technical and entrepreneurial capacity. It also supports them with input credit package to their crops.
To ensure reliable and traceable raw materials base to feed the factory, Kedan Limited works with over 10,000 smallholder farmers comprising 35% females and 65% males with 50% of them being youths.
The company has a fulltime 48 staff and currently engages 50 women at the factory to clean, sort and grade maize grains for the food and beverage industry.
