The Health Ministry as part of efforts to stem the spread of Covid-19 in the country has announced the accurate procedures for wearing and removing face masks.
According to a statement signed by the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, incorrect usage or contaminated face masks could endanger lives, therefore, the need to educate the general public.
He said that users must first clean their hands with soap and water before putting on a mask and ensure that it covers the nose and mouth.
For its removal, he stated that a finger passes through the loop of the mask behind one ear without touching the front of the mask.
“Wash hands immediately with soap and water, where available apply alcohol-based sanitizer after dispose.”
This comes after President Akufo-Addo in his seventh televised address to the nation encouraged citizens to always be in face masks when in public.
