Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for the Covid-19 National Trust Fund has expressed worry about the increasing number of positive coronavirus cases in Ghana since its outbreak.
Accusing Ghanaians of not adhering to directives and measures put in place by President Akufo-Addo, Sophia Akuffo said disobedience will only lead to more increase instead of a decline.
"Supporting the president will help the figures to reduce especially social distancing.
"But our market women are not obeying that. Videos coming out shows that the women are not obeying any of the directives so we will appeal to them to adhere strictly to all directives."
Speaking during a donation of ¢100,000 by the Council of State led by its Chairman, Nana Otuo Serebuor to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund, she urged people to stay home and stay safe.
“We have to listen to what the President says because he has done everything to fight the pandemic.
"Since the first case was recorded till now, he has put measures in place but it seems Ghanaians are just being stubborn. We have taken the fight for granted making the impact less felt."
