A lawyer for the Malian musician, Rokia Traoré, has confirmed that she recently flew home from France despite a Paris court ruling in March that she be extradited to Belgium over a child custody dispute.
Ms Traoré was not sent to Belgium because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Last year a Belgian court ruled that she must return her five-year-old daughter to the child's Belgian father, from whom Ms Traoré is separated.
Her lawyer says a Malian court had awarded custody to the singer.
Ms Traoré was in March detained in Paris due to a Belgian arrest warrant accusing her of kidnapping her child.
Back in Bamako, she posted on social media that the quest for justice continued.
