Education infrastructure at Hiamankyene, near Agona in the Afigya Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region, is set to see improvement from the current poor state.
Rotary Club of Kumasi is initiating the construction of an eight-unit classroom block and eight units of micro -flush toilets in the area.

The local basic school built of wood had deteriorated making it dangerously uninhabitable.

Club President, Prince Prempeh Gyamfi, recounts how members took a decision on the initiative after they came across the structure on a tour two years ago.
The project, estimated to cost $105,028.00 USD and cedi equivalent of GHS599,709.88 will have furniture, solar panel, a computer laboratory and library books.

“When we came, we realized their school facility is not the best so we contacted our partners in the state, Club of Prince George County, Rotary Club Kumasi and Ghana to raise the money to build this structure,” he said.
Fifteen boreholes have already been completed in nearby communities like Dansokrom, Krakrom among others.
