Founder of Glitz Africa, Claudia Lumor, says event planners need stimulus packages because of the effect Covid-19 has had on their activities.
Speaking on Showbiz A-Z with George Quaye she stated that the money, unlike popular opinion, is not to produce an event but to sustain their businesses.
“We have offices that we are running, staffs that we are paying, logistics and things like that,” she explained.
Her comments come weeks after President Akufo-Addo’s announcement of a ¢600 million stimulus package to support businesses that are suffering due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms Lumor stated that after the pandemic hit her company and other planners have also had to refund money because shows were cancelled.
She explained that many event companies have suffered set backs and continue to do so especially since the ban on large gatherings in still in force.
“We employ lost of people so that is why some of us need that stimulus package, it is not just to produce and event,” she added.
