Some incumbent Members of Parliament who lost their re-election bid in the June 20 New Patriotic Parties (NPP) primaries are still recovering from the defeat.
One of them is MP for Manso Nkwanta in the Ashanti Region, Joseph Albert Quarm, who says his defeat will not stifle development in the area.
It comes amid concerns about what happens to development projects initiated, through these exiting legislators for their people.
Mr Quarm said though MPs are not direct agents of development, their lobbying capacity means a lot for their constituents.
He has, for instance, facilitated the establishment of two technical and vocational training institutions for the people.
Chiefs of Pakyi Number Two have handed over 5 acres of land for establishment of another school. Nana Kofi Agyei says the initiative creates jobs for residents.
Five laboratories, including one for jewelry making, each with 200 capacity will be set up at the proposed training school.
The technical and vocational training schools would empower the youth for better and responsible future.
The Member of parliament is however optimistic that such initiatives will eventually change face Manso Nkwanta constituency.
