Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama is set to formally outdoor, running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Monday, July 27.
In a press release sighted by JoyNews and signed by the Campaign spokesperson for the party James Agyenim-Boateng, the occasion is to allow Professor Opoku-Agyemang share her policy statement as a running mate.
“Professor Opoku-Agyemang, a distinguished and respected academic, becomes the first female Running Mate on the ticket of a major political party in Ghana.
“She is also the first female Vice Chancellor of a public university in the country and the immediate past Minister for Education.
“She is credited with pursuing a healthy mix of innovative policy initiatives, quality outcomes, and massive infrastructural development during her tenure as Minister for Education," part of the press release read.
The statement further stated that in accordance with Covid-19 protocols, “about one hundred (100) people drawn from a wide array of groupings are expected to attend the ceremony”
It also urged members and supporters of the NDC and the general public to follow the live radio and television broadcast which will take place on all networks across the country from 6:45 pm, on Monday.
