Where is the Minister for Special Development Initiatives Hawa Koomson?
That was the question from NDC MPs after the Minister failed to show up in the House to respond to questions on her Ministry Wednesday.
MP for Adaklu Kwame Agbodza who posed the question the Majority Chief Whip, Ameyaw Kyeremeh, however, got no answer except the Minister is not available and that her appearance in the House has been rescheduled.
Speaker Aaron Mike Oquaye had to calm the rising tension in the chamber after NPP MPs tried to drown the Member from Adaklu.
Prof. Oquaye cautioned the NPP legislators against over-solidarizing with the colleague.
“If an honourable Member cannot raise questions on the availability of Ministers, then what are we here for,” he quizzed.
Kasoa shooting
Hawa Koomson took over headlines last week after admitting to firing a gun at a voters’ registration center in her Constituency, Awutu Senya East in the Central Region.
The MP said she fired the shots because she felt her life was in danger after her vehicle was allegedly attacked by NDC supporters at the registration center.
Her action has since received widespread condemnation with critics demanding her prosecution.
Police in the Central Region have, meanwhile, taken a statement from her and are investigating the disturbances.
