Research Consultant at IMANI Africa, Dennis Asare has said the political manifestoes of the two major political parties have promises that are intended to aid the growth of businesses.

He said the intentions of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) will help to resuscitate businesses following the blow of Covid-19 on their affairs.

Mr Asare said this will also lead to the creation of employment and the improvement of the standard of living in the country.

“What I can see from the two manifestoes is that all of them are trying to create incentives for business. This is to stimulate demands so that they don’t fall for businesses to struggle,” he explained.

He said this as part of discussions on the Super Morning Show analysis of the manifestoes presented in the run up to the December elections.

The National Democratic Congress(NDC) launched it's 2020 manifesto September 7, after an initial postponement.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was the first to launch theirs on August 22, at Cape Coast.

This has been followed by series of debates on which party has the most feasible campaign promises and development agenda for the country.

Commenting on the issue, Mr Asare noted that the recovery of businesses will aid the national economy as government will in turn tax the incomes of people who are employed resultantly.

"You remember in the NPP manifesto where they promised some incentives in terms of digitisation and other programs to stimulate the work of business.

“The NDC seeks to reduce the Corporate Income Tax 25 per cent to 15 per cent for  Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs)," he said.
