The Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA) has welcomed President Nana Akufo-Addo’s appointment of Dr Opoku Ware Ampomah as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).
The Association’s president, Charles Ofei-Palm in a statement on Monday expressed gratitude to the President Akufo-Addo for selecting "one of their own" to head one of the country’s leading referral hospitals.
“We highly and respectfully acknowledge that this appointment of one of our own, is a clear evidence that you have listened to the concerns of all stakeholders.
“Your Excellency, we are indeed very excited for the appointment, and it is amply evident that Dr. Ampomah’s appointment is based on his experience, commitment and track record,” he said.
He also pledged that members of the Association will give their unflinching support to help the new CEO take KBTH to greater heights.
After the expiration of the tenure of office of the former CEO of Dr Daniel Asare on Thursday, 3 September 2020, President Akufo-Addo announced the appointment of Dr Opoku Oware Ampomah to assume office as the next CEO.
The newly-appointed CEO is the Director of the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre at the hospital, is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
