Residents within the Mfantseman Constituency and sympathisers have thronged the house of the murdered incumbent MP, Ekow Quansah Hayford to mourn with the family.
The sympathisers made up of grieving family members, party supporters and executives, together with some colleagues of the MP, have gathered at the deceased's residence in Mankessim.

Mr Ekow Quansah Hayford, who is the NPP's Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mfantseman constituency was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen around 1 am on Friday.

This was after his car was attacked on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road in the Central Region.

Eyewitnesses say the suspected armed robbers numbering about six started shooting at the MP’s vehicle when his driver attempted to drive through the robbery operation.

The driver was subsequently shot, resulting in him losing control over the vehicle.

The MP is alleged to have introduced himself to the robbers which infuriated them. He was then shot twice.

Born on December 24, 1970, the late MP was married with four children.
He is said to have filed his nomination for the upcoming Parliamentary elections at the EC's district office on Thursday.

Meanwhile, with President Akufo-Addo is urging the country's security forces to bring the perpetrators to book.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh has already placed a ¢20,000 bounty on the killers of the incumbent MP.
