Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the nation's youth unemployment situation as a ticking time bomb.
The flag bearer of the opposition NDC says the country could see a similar state of unrest as has been witnessed in neighbouring Nigeria and other countries across the world if the approach to job creation being implemented by the current administration continues.
Mr. Mahama has therefore presented himself as having the Midas needed touch to resolve this issue, after having conducted a thorough human resource analysis which has revealed over a hundred thousand vacant posts that must be filled.
As part of plans to fix the unemployment challenge, the former president has also promised to create a 24-hour economy where workers mainly in the public sector will work three 8-hour shifts in order to help industrialize the country and create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
He was speaking at a professional dialogue with business owners and professionals who interrogated the policy plans the NDC has captured in its manifesto christened 'The People's Manifesto'.
